3,3'-Difluoro-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diamine is a drug that inhibits the growth of Salmonella typhimurium. It blocks signal transduction by inhibiting the opening of voltage-gated ion channels in mammalian cells. 3,3'-Difluoro-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diamine has been shown to decrease liver cell proliferation and to be carcinogenic in rats. In addition to its antimicrobial activity, 3,3'-Difluoro-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diamine has been shown to inhibit the growth of liver cancer cells and has been used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C.
